It depends on the size, location, and type of extension. Many projects fall under permitted development rights and don’t require formal planning permission. However, if your property is in a conservation area, is a listed building, or if the extension exceeds certain size limits, you’ll need to apply. We’ll assess your project during the initial consultation and guide you through the planning process if required. Our team has extensive experience navigating Surrey’s planning landscape.
Typically 8–12 weeks from submission to decision. We handle the entire application process on your behalf, liaising with local authorities and ensuring all documentation is correct.
If your extension is built on or near a boundary shared with a neighbour, you may need a Party Wall Agreement. This is a legal requirement to inform neighbours and agree on the work. We’ll advise you if this applies to your project and can recommend trusted party wall surveyors.
